Frequently asked questions

HEIC vs JPG: which should I use?

Keep shooting HEIC on your iPhone for storage, and convert to JPG when a photo needs to leave Apple's world: Windows, email, government forms, and older apps. HEIC is smaller; JPG opens everywhere.

How do I get a passport photo under 100KB?

Crop and light the photo to the portal's dimensions first, then compress to JPG under 100KB. Phone photos start at 2MB to 8MB, so a closed-loop compressor that measures real bytes is the reliable path.

Why can't I open a WebP image I saved from the web?

Many websites serve WebP because it is smaller than JPG. Browsers open it; plenty of desktop apps and upload forms do not. Convert WebP to JPG when you need a file that works outside the browser.

Can I convert many HEIC photos to JPG at once?

Yes. Select up to 30 HEIC files in one upload and download one ZIP of JPGs. Batches are capped at 150MB total, with no signup and no watermarks.
